Kara Herman Fransted
Chief Operations Officer
Kara was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy upon graduation from Villanova University. Her first assignment was USS COWPENS (CG 63) in Yokosuka, Japan for three years where she served as Combat Information Center Officer and the Air Defense Liaison Officer for CTF 70, Battle Force 7th Fleet. There she was in charge of Air Defense Operations and Planning for the 7th Fleet Pacific theater of operations. She then moved to San Diego, CA and served on USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) as Training Officer as well as the Air Defense Liaison Officer for Carrier Strike Group One. They deployed for ten months to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf doing Operations and Planning in support of Operation Inherent Resolve.
Kara resigned from the Navy and joined KMH Financial Services as the Operations Manager in January 2016. She carried over her passion for helping others from the military and works tirelessly to be of service to our clients. She fully believes in the idea of holistic planning so that everyone may have opportunities to pursue their dreams. Her years of operations experience and dedication to improving efficiency in the business made her an ideal candidate for COO. In 2018 she was promoted to Chief Operations Officer and holds Series 7 and 66 securities registrations with LPL Financial.
Kara is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Wealth Management from Columbia University which also meets the prerequisite for the CFP®.
Outside of the office, Kara uses her time to speak about leadership to young girls and women and compete in Olympic Weightlifting. Kara is married to husband Matt and they have three daughters.
